Getting your NBI Clearance

Today I tried to get my NBI clearance. I was under the impression that if I go directly to NBI Monumento there will be less people. I thought it would be faster. Waiting online observing the chaotic system they had made me wonder why?… Why does it seem like every time you go to a government agency to get something its such a horrific humbling experience. No chairs, poor service, rude people and depressing system. Getting your NBI clearance is painstaking long.

When I arrived I looked for an information desk. Asked them for the application form and the manong said “mamaya pa kami magpapapasok” so I stayed there waiting for a couple of minutes.  Then the first guy who was waiting in line was the one who informed me that there was a line for people who were trying to get an application. I relied on the information from those people who were waiting in line from them I found out the there were 2 different lines. One is for those renewing and the other is for new applicants.

After waiting for a couple of hours a guy was talking to a lot of us it seemed like he was already discouraging other people to wait. He asked the others about their business and directed them to the right line. Some of the people who were in our lane was just renewing their NBI clearance so they transferred. He told some of the people to just go back on Monday. He said “3:30 cut-off na… ang haba pa ng pila kung sino lang ang makakapasok by 3:30 yun lang pag di kayo umabot balik na lang kayo sa Monday… Agahan niyo dahil January talagang peak season namin” I stayed, and hoped against hope, that I would be able to get my clearance. After an hour the line suddenly moved so fast I was so happy and excited… However  the line was just moving because they announced that they won’t entertain applicants anymore. Some people who waited complained and argued but nothing happened

So on Monday, I will go back to the 5th floor of Victory Central Mall to get my  NBI clearance.
